Linden Labs gör två, Secone Life Viewer och Snowglobe.

( http://www.metabolt.net/ )

There are some irritating bug's left to fix, VWR-4575 IM tabs no longer blink when new IM text is received. A so called hot, issue at LL since 1.19.0.RC1. But LL have been working getting this back and we'll probably get it in 6 months, that's about the same time if took to get the friends list out of the communication window.

Most memory leak and bug fix patches are in, almost none of the gui fixes, I'm not planning to release this until the GUI also is better than the Linden version. From the nicholaz EC viewer the following patches are left not added:

<dh>1550_revert_voice_chatterbox.patch</dh>

With 2037 main GUI stuff.

<dh>2037_disable_voice_controls_save_space.path</dh>

With 1550 main GUI changes, the .19 have many UI changes and this it not clean to add back in, and maybe in parts need to be changed.

<dh><s>1857_apr_thread_mutex_nested.patch</s></dh>

<s>This is a memory fix, that somehow isn't clean to add, not time to find the reason for it yet.</s> Works.

<dh><s>1857_cache_uploaded_textures_v0.82.patch</s></dh>

<s>Party 2 of 1857 same stuff as the fellow patch.</s> Works.

<dh>2038_overlaybar_rearrange_media_controls_V2.patch</dh>

GUI changed so much needs to be reworked.

<dh>2074_toggle_chat_bar_in_near_me_if_main_chat_activated.patch</dh>

Big GUI changes in here.

<dh>x3151_undo_statusbar_search_by_Henri_Beauchamp.patch</dh>

Appliec but crashed on start up, the status bar have changed much.

I'm looking into the windlight drop on svn and with it some parts of the 1.19-RC0 and how Nicholaz patches fits, so far i have seen some minor compile problems show up, line NULL being change to bool in one place, one patch then been applied to the code (2684_leak_cleanup_layoutstack.patch, need to check what the JIRA sais), and one combination (1857_apr_thread_mutex_nested.patch and 1857_cache_uploaded_textures_v0.82.patch) causing big problems. With much work ahead of me this being a busy work week, I'm not sure i have it out soon, but one could hope.

Status update: the build crashes at start up. I can't say if that's from patches of something that differs from the released code in 79185 (svn code is 79315 but compiles to the name 78429). The svn code without changes crashes in the same way as the balp build... I Guess the relesed code now would be awsome to have.

Status update: New release from linden labs with missing xml files should fix the problem (Robin Cornelius) reported success, my build succeeded but i still need to run home to be able to test it.

When Linden land thou Joshua published the Roadmap: 1.19.0 Viewer, I was sceptic and not thrilled, one could say negative. The updated time plan looked much better and realistic. The only bad stuff making it into 1.19 is the age verification, look at Nadine's killing of the technology. Keeping under ages out might be good, but not this way.

I have compiles a first look of the viewer, thanks Linden for the new updated subversion handling! The biggest changes are in the UI, the 1.19 looks much better than anything since the release of voice in august. The biggest change is that the friends list now finally is possible to get out of the f**king communicate window. Also finally there is an addition of voice to Linux, soon the message "Second life is now fully voice enabled" might be true. Now it just time to live up to "Voice viewer release is open source". Voice is still a secret binary blobb, not portable and probably not working well at all computers, it's a little early to tell. There exist no possibility for fix the stuff so it works with esd or an other sound deamon, the same way as the viewer does. Adding Nicholas patches will be a little harder this time, and some might not any more be usable.

Ok, back from vacation and new patches from Nicholaz, this time for the windlight code. My build is made against the 18.6.76116 versions of the code, (last source code, new viewer from LL). I have tested with the 18.6.76453 viewer as well. The 18.6.76116 contain an error in a German language file that might have you log into a false SL site. (The kind of stuff the new login behaviour is there to "save" us all from...)

However downloads are on acc, binaries and patches. Inteneded for 18.6.76116 but works with 18.6.76453 as well. (LL seams to have removed the 76116 version from all but source code...)

To install with 18.7.76453 do as follows.

$ wget http://firstlook-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/SecondLife_i686_1_18_6_76453_WINDLIGHT.tar.bz2

$ wget http://www.acc.umu.se/~balp/second_life/balp-build-wl-a.tar.bz2

$ tar jxf SecondLife_i686_1_18_6_76453_WINDLIGHT.tar.bz2

$ cd SecondLife_i686_1_18_6_76453_WINDLIGHT

$ tar --strip 1 -jxf ../balp-build-wl-a.tar.bz2

$ wget http://www.acc.umu.se/~balp/second_life/18.6.7453/releasenotes.txt

The last file added the 18.6.76116 to the top of the release notes to tell the nicholaz version you have 76116 installed.
